- The first step is to train lengths. 7 meters (20 feet) is a good starting point. The all important point is to get a really good feel for one specific length, in this case 7 meters; this should be your home you can return to, then from this reference length, you can learn shorter and longer lengths. Choose "put" and then "dis". Repeatedly put until the puts are withing 10% accurate, i.e. between 6.3 and 7.7 meters. To accomplish this, you must feel the speed at which the putter strokes. One technique to get the right feel for speed, is to imagine a short click sound at the first sensor, and then another click sound at the last sensors as the putter passes over them; get a feel for the time variation of the two clicks for different speeds of the putter.
- Once you can do the first step, then you must learn to remember the putting speed from hour to hour. Do the first step, then wait one hour, then on the first stroke after waiting, you should be withing 10%. You are allowed to do practise swings before doing it over the unit, try to get the right feel of "click" timing for the 7 meter distance; when it feel right, go for the first real try over the unit. Thus here we try to remember the speed from one hour to the next.
- The next step is to remember the speed of the putter from day to day. The first stroke of the day should be withing 10%.
- Train dayly one quarter of an hour. Remember that sleep helps you accomplish your training goal, but for this to work, you have to train regularally.
- Do the same for other lenghts, 3, 5, 10 etc meters.
- Then focus on the direction. Try to get the right feel for straight ahead. Choose "put" then "dir".
- When you feel ready, combine both direction and length, choose "put" then "com". You'll probably notice that you mihgt do length and direction very good, when trained separately, but when combined and forcing you to focus on two different aspect the same time makes the results worse; you need to practise your simultaneous ability.
- Now you are ready for statistics. Choose "tra" and "dis". Choose 50 strokes and 7 meters. Get the stroke statistics, and write them down.
- To get a simpler feedback, choose "sys" "settings" and "length percent" "yes". This will let you see each stroke as a percentage of target lenght in "tra" "dis" or "com"
- Do 100 putts or more each day by choosing "tra" and "com". Once you put stable and precise, keep this in muscle memory by repetition regurally.
